Resources and Expertise to Guard Against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment
Throughout 2021, the UN in Indonesia continued to make available training focused on the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH) to all staff members and affiliated personnel. Through a victim-centred approach, the UN also continued to raise awareness of the prohibition of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment as well as the means of reporting cases. In addition, the following measures have been taken to advance PSEAH among the UNCT:
- The UNCT’s dedicated Inter-Agency PSEAH Task Force held regular meetings throughout the year to map risks and opportunities for PSEAH and to monitor progress against the annual PSEAH Work Plan.
- The UNCT finalized the recruitment of a PSEAH Coordinator to support the RCO on mainstreaming PSEAH across all UN agencies, including assessing and evaluating risks, supporting existing coordination mechanisms and establishing a new inter-agency mechanism for complaints.
- All Inter-Agency PSEAH Task Force Focal Points completed mandatory online PSEAH training.
- The UN in Indonesia concluded the design of a comprehensive inter-agency PSEAH Training Plan for focal points to be implemented in 2022, with a focus on the new mechanism for reporting complaints.
- All Inter-Agency PSEAH Task Force Focal Points took part in surveys to thoroughly assess agency and organisational PSEAH capacity and analyse gaps, with a view to informing the 2022 PSEAH Work Plan.
